Description
Deutsch: Enges kerbtalförmiges Trockental, beginnend südöstlich von Oberstetten (Landkreis Reutlingen) bei 720 m. Nur ein Holzabfuhrweg führt durch die fast durchgängig bewaldeten beiden Abschnitte Oberstetter Tal – Tiefental. Das 10 km lange Tal mit einem kräftigen Gefälle von 10‰ wird nur von einer einzigen Landstraße gequert. Im Trockental können keine deutlichen Spuren Jahreszeit bedingter Niederschlagsrinnen beobachtet werden. Dennoch sind der Fichtenbestand und der grüne Bodenbewuchs relativ üppig. Dieser Typ Trockental in einer mit nur wenigen Dörfern dünn besiedelten Landschaft kommt auf der schwäbischen Kuppenalb häufig vor.

English: Narrow dry valley southeast of Oberstetten (Hohenstein), Swabian Alb. The two valleys “Oberstetter Tal – Tiefental”, 10 km in length, are almost totally covered by forests, with rich vegetation on the forest floor. Yet there are no signs of at least perennial drainage. The valley’s grade is strong; there are no roads, just a logging road. This type of dry valley is quite common on the Kuppenalb.
