English: A Kim Jong Un impersonator said on Friday (June 8) he was detained by Singapore's immigration, days before a historic meeting between the U.S. and North Korea.
The look-alike who goes by the name Howard, said he was detained for two hours and questioned for around 30 minutes when he arrived in the early morning hours at Singapore's Changi Airport. He later joined his companion Dennis Allan, who impersonates Donald Trump, and surprised tourists by making an appearance in Singapore's landmark Merlion Park, with tourists taking photos of the duo. Howard and Allan became popular after they impersonated the two leaders during the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang in February. The June 12 summit in Singapore will be the first face-to-face meeting between Trump, the former reality TV star who likes to keep people guessing up to a cliff-hanger finish, and Kim, the heir to a reclusive dynasty with a history of reneging on promises to curb its nuclear ambitions. |
