Summary
editDescriptionTrumpchi GS4 front.jpg |
English: Place: Guangzhou, Guangdong Province
Chinese name: 传祺GS4 (chuánqí GS4) Year of launch: 2015 One of the most successful Chinese carmakers recently is the local brand of the state-owned GAC Group. GAC stands for Guangzhou Automobile Group, referring to the city where it is based, so it leads to no surprise that these cars are very common in Guangzhou. GAC started with the Trumpchi brand in 2010, when it launched a sedan based on the Alfa Romeo 166-platform, a sedan that was later renamed to Trumpchi GA5. The GS4 is the car that catapulted sales of Trumpchi. The SUV is hugely successful, selling 326,906 units in 2016. In the first five months of 2017 sales were further up. It's the second most successful SUV after only the Haval H6 by Great Wall Motors. |
