Summary
editDescriptionTumbleton Pump House, Cragside estate - geograph.org.uk - 663887.jpg |
English: Tumbleton Pump House, Cragside estate. Built in 1868 at the foot of the dam holding back Tumbleton Lake this houses a double acting hydraulic pump that uses the 35 feet head of the dam to pump water to a reservoir 150 feet above the pump house. This is a genuine reciprocating piston pump and not a hydraulic ram (a different kind of black magic). |
