| Description |
English: Turbine nacelle at Ben Aketil The rear section of a turbine nacelle waiting to be lifted and fixed to the top of one of the towers at the Ben Aketil power station. The main shaft will run from the blades, through the bearing in the centre, to the gearbox and generator behind. Immediately below the shaft bearing can be seen the large horizontal cog that will be part of the yaw control mechanism, keeping the blades aligned into the wind. |
