Description
English: Turkish Airlines Flight 1951 was a scheduled flight from Istanbul, Turkey to Amsterdam, Netherlands. The Boeing 737-800 aircraft broke up into three parts due to the crash into a field outside Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport at 9:31 UTC (10:31 CET) on 25 February 2009. Although the wreck did not catch fire, an official press conference confirmed the death of nine people and the injury of eighty. The crash site is located approximately 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) north of the Polderbaan runway (18R-36L), just beside the A9 motorway. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.
Deutsch: Turkish Airlines Flug 1951 war ein Linienflug vom Atatürk-Flughafen in Istanbul nach Amsterdam. Am 25. Februar 2009, gegen 09:40 Uhr UTC, stürzte das Flugzeug beim Landeanflug auf den Flughafen Schiphol ab. Die Absturzstelle liegt etwa drei Kilometer nördlich des Aufsetzpunktes der Landebahn 18R, unweit des Autobahnkreuzes Rottepolderplein der A9 mit der A200 westlich von Zwanenburg.[1][2] Das Flugzeug zerbrach in drei Teile, fing aber kein Feuer. Laut offizieller Pressekonferenz gab es 9 Tote und 50 Verletzte.
