English: German Air Force Panvaia Tornados (s/n 45+57, 46+22) of Taktisches Luftwaffengeschwader 33 (TaktLwG 33) receive fuel from a Royal Canadian Air Force Lockheed CC-130H Hercules during the European Air-to-Air Refueling Training portion of exercise "Arctic Defender 24" at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska (USA), 11 July 2024. "Arctic Defender" was a German Air Force-led exercise that provides a unique opportunity to integrate various forces into joint, coalition and multilateral training from simulated forward operating bases. EART trains tanker crews, planners, taskers and engineers, including maintenance personnel, in air-to-air refueling operations and offers a unique opportunity to the nations participating in Arctic Defender to train their tanker and fighter crews in planning and executing missions within a realistic and multinational framework. |
