This is Tyler Village, which is located in the St. Clair-Superior neighborhood on East 36th Street. The village’s home in the former W.S. Tyler Co. industrial complex has several bridges over East 36th Street, creating some interesting perspectives. Constructed in the early 20th Century, the Complex has become an incubator of entrepreneurship and innovation, and is home to a host of interesting businesses, including restaurants, non-traditional offices, a STEM-based charter school, fabrication facilities, and studios for creative businesses. The interesting spaces created by the meandering buildings include several courtyards and out-of-the-way hidden areas that give it a bit of character akin to ancient old world villages. This is a positive sign for the ongoing revitalization of the area, and gives me hope for the future of Cleveland.
