English: Typical Chiltern Hills Woodland. Reservoir Hill, Greenlands, Near Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. This grid square consists of a cultivated valley between two wooded ridges of the Chiltern Hills.
The picture shows an Orienteering mass start race heading up the western ridge towards the wooded area. The woodland is typically beech and many mature trees are found. An idea of the height of these trees can be gained by comparing them to the adult runners proceeding up the hill. |
