Summary

edit
Description Typical steeply graded street in St. John's. The town is built in step fashion across the face of a mountain, so if you need to get to any of the parallel high streets, you need to walk down one of these steeply graded streets. It was Ok going down, but while coming up, I was huffing and puffing and pausing several times to catch my breath. Age is catching up with me, I guess! Restaurants were two levels down, so it was a helluva climb up after dinner on all four days we were there! Note colourful, wooden buildings, a characteristic feature of all houses all over Newfoundland. (St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, June 2015)
