English: U.S. Army Sgt. Eric Chaffins, a mortarman assigned to Delta Company, 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, explains the use of a "whiz" wheel in conjunction with the mortar site of an M224 60 mm mortar system to Afghan National Army 1st Lt. Isaqh and one of his soldiers, both with 3rd Battalion, 2nd Brigade, 203rd "Thunder" Corps, at Assistance Platform Orgun-E in Paktika province, Afghanistan, June 12, 2013. The "whiz" wheel is a tool used by mortarmen to quickly calculate the elevation and deflection needed to properly aim a mortar tube and ensure accuracy when firing.
