തൊണ്ടർനാട്: 1 -നിരവിൽപ്പുഴ: കേരളത്തിൽ വയനാട് ജില്ലയിൽ കോഴിക്കോട് ജില്ലയോട് ചേർന്നു കിടക്കുന്ന ഒരു മലയോര ഗ്രാമമാണ് നിരവിൽപ്പുഴ: ചരിത്രത്തിൻ്റെ രാജ പ്രൗഡിയും, ആഗലേയ അധിനിവേശത്തിൻ്റെ അഹങ്കാരവും, ആദിവാസി അടിമത്വത്തിൻ്റെ ഗത്ഗതങ്ങളും, മൈസൂർ സിംഹം ടിപ്പു സുൽത്താൻ്റെ പടയോട്ടവും, പറങ്കി പടയുടെ യുദ്ധകാഹളവും ചെറുത്ത വീരകേരളപഴശ്ശിതമ്പുരാൻ്റെ കുളമ്പടിനാദം മുഴങ്ങുന്ന പാത കടന്നു പോകുന്ന പുണ്യഭൂമിയാണ് നിരവിൽപ്പുഴ: കണ്ണൂർ കോട്ടയത്തുനിന്നും കുറിച്ച്വർപടയേറും, നായർ പടയേയു നയിച്ച് ചെങ്കുത്തായ കുറ്റ്യാടിമല താണ്ടി മട്ടിലയവും കടന്ന് പുഴയുടെ തീരത്ത് വീറും വാശിയും അണയാതെ ശൗര്യത്തോടെ പുഴ കടക്കാൻ തുനിഞ്ഞു. കുത്തൊഴുക്കിൽ പുഴ രൗദ്രഭാവത്തിൽ അടി ചുഴി തീർത്ത് പതിയിരുന്നു. ക്രിത്യതയില്ല)100 150തോളം വരുന്ന പഴശ്ശി പട നിരയായി ഒന്നിന് പുറകെ ഒന്നായി കൈകോർത്ത് പുഴ മുറിച്ചുകടക്കവേ.. അടിയൊഴുക്കിൽ പെട്ട് നില തെറ്റി നിരതെറ്റി പോയി ഒഴുകി പോയവർ പലരും പല ഭാഗങ്ങളിലായി കരപറ്റി അങ്ങനെ നിരതെറ്റി പുഴ എന്ന് പഴശ്ശിപടയിൽ നിന്നും വായ് മൊഴിയായി പടർന്ന സ്ഥലനാമം പിന്നെ കാലങ്ങൾ കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ നിരവിൽപ്പുഴ എന്ന വരമൊഴിയിലേക്ക് ഗതിമാറി "
