English: Reportage photo of the Norwegian politician Vidkun Quisling, taken by the photographic firm Henriksen & Steen in Oslo in 1935. Quisling is seated at his office desk, with a newspaper, papers, a telephone, and office supplies on the table (stationary, blotting paper, desk calendar, ashtray, etc.) and maps of Norway on the wall.
  • Vidkun Quisling (1887–1945) was a Norwegian army officer who became infamous for his collaboration with Nazi Germany during World War II. After serving in various military and diplomatic roles, he founded the fascist Nasjonal Samling (NS, 'National Union') Party. In 1940, he supported the German invasion of Norway and led a puppet government under German occupation. Quisling's regime was deeply unpopular and involved in persecuting Norwegian Jews. After Norway's liberation, he was arrested, found guilty of treason, and executed. His name became synonymous with "traitor."
