blog.usaid.gov The Love a Child Village is an orphanage and school run by a U.S. faith-based organization that became a disaster recovery medical center for hundreds of earthquake victims. These photos capture some of the first post-op patients from the USNS Comfort who were transferred to the area. Hundreds of Haitian survivors with broken limbs and open wounds from the January 12 earthquake are being treated at the Love A Child Village. The site, a school that has transformed into a disaster recovery site, is being run by a number of US organizations, including support from a US Disaster Medical Assistance Team.
