Description
English: San Fernando Earthquake. February 1971. Veteran's Administration Hospital, Sylmar, Los Angeles.
  • The three fallen stairway units are shown here, as well as collapsed one and two story portions of the building, collapsed carport in parking lot, the 3 collapsed united are individual monoliths and were supported on columns through the basement, the fourth unit was built on ground, not supported by columns, the collapse of carport and first floors was also due to failure of columns.
  • This building was dedicated January 1970.
