The text of the report states:
In Cooney Box (pl. 4, A.), the western part of the Mineral Creek Canyon, the altitude at stream level is 5,450 feet; at the edge of the plateau, 600 feet to the north, it is 6,300 feet. The topography of the Silver Creek Canyon is similar, but for the most part the cliffs are not so steep. Along Whitewater Creek the canyon walls are as steep as in Cooney Box. Farther up the stream courses the valleys, although still bordered by sharp cliffs, are not of the box canyon form which is characteristic at their exit from the range. To the east of the Mogollon district the stream valleys, though still with steep sides, lose the cliff-inclosed canyon form which is characteristic nearer the front of the range. (See pl. 4, B.)
