Curtis was presented with a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and a noncommissioned officer sword. Hernandez was presented with a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and a Ka-Bar mounted plaque. “Our staff noncommissioned officers gave us the tools and our noncommissioned officers set the bar high, and gave us the guidance to reach it,” said Hernandez. Lehnert presented the Marines with their awards during a safety stand down at the air station, May 8. “When I see these young Marines distinguishing themselves like this, it puts me at ease about leaving the Corps in their hands when I retire,” said Sergeant.
