English: AR RAMADI, Iraq (April 17, 2005) - A member of the Iraqi Intervention Forces relieves Lance Cpl. Angel R. Campos, a mortar man with 3rd Squad, 3rd Platoon, Company C, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, from posting security from a street corner during a patrol here. Fifteen IIF members accompanied Marines with 3rd Platoon, Company C, 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, and, together, conducted a combat patrol. The three-hour joint-mission was geared towards fine-tuning the IIF members' patrolling techniques by providing them with hands-on training in a combat environment. Campos, a 20-year-old San Diego native, and other Marines with 3rd Platoon, Company C, 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, showed their IIF counterparts proper dispersion, how to post security and set up over watches and other patrolling fundamentals. In the not so distant future, the IIF assume full responsibility of conducting security and stabilization operations when they are competent enough to successfully patrol the city on their own.
