Description
English: Pfc. Melissa V. Starkey, a field radio operator with 9th Communications Battalion, from Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., conducts a radio check during the Mountain Command, Control and Communications Course Feb. 22. The MCCC is a 15-day course which trains Marines and other U.S. military service and foreign allied personnel to become proficient in all aspects of mountain command and control communications. Starkey said operating in this rugged environment was physically tough. “I had to put a lot of heart into it,” said the Knoxville, Tenn., native.
