Butler, pose with Anthony’s trophy and award letter after he won first place in a schoolwide spelling bee. As the winner, the fifth-grader qualified to compete in the 2011 Japan Times Spelling Bee in Tokyo. He and his family were on mainland Japan to attend the spelling bee when a 9.0 magnitude earthquake hit followed by a devastating tsunami. |
