English: Some of II Marine Expeditionary Force's newest chief petty officers stand at attention after recieving their anchors during the Chief Petty Officer Pinning Ceremony at Camp Lejeune's base theater, Sep. 16, 2008. The ceremony was the culminating event of a six-week indoctrination process designed to prepare the Sailors for service as a chief petty officer. The 39 chief selectees came from II MEF units aboard Camp Lejeune, Camp Johnson, and Marine Corps Air Station New River, and during their induction, participated in a series of classes covering the history and tradition of chief petty officers, attended the Chief Petty Officer Academy, and took part in a 25-mile motivational beach run from Camp Johnson to Onslow Beach. |
