English: Marines with Amphibious Vehicles Test Branch, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton test an Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle off of Camp Del Mar's beach, Aug. 18. When activated, the EFV will be the primary means of tactical mobility for the Marine rifle squad during the conduct of amphibious operations. The EFV can achieve water speeds of 25 knots and land speeds up to 45 mph and can safely carry 17 troops. It features a 30mm automatic cannon and an M240 machine gun.
