English: A U.S. airman with Exercise African Lion 2011 checks the pulse of a Moroccan villager in Tassguedelt, May 24. The airman was part of a bilateral team that safely conducted five days of humanitarian and civic assistance activities in the Moroccan countryside. Exercise African Lion 2011 is an annually scheduled, joint, combined U.S.-Moroccan exercise. It is the largest exercise within the U.S. Africa Command area of responsibility, and is designed to promote interoperability and mutual understanding of each nation's military tactics, techniques and procedures. All U.S. forces will return to their home bases in the United States and Europe at the conclusion of the exercise. |
