Description
English: Maj. Timothy Schnelle, the executive officer for Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 361 and a Merrick, N.Y., native, walks the landing pad as a CH-53E Super Stallion flies aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar Oct. 12. Marines with HMH-361 flew out to a helicopter dock to conduct field- carrier landing practice, simulating ship lift offs and landings. The pilots must complete five of these field practices each month in order to operate on a ship. When deployed, CH-53E pilots deliver food and supplies to ground troops, as well as assisting in troop transportation.
