English: Sgt. Christopher Lemke, a mechanic with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 369, and a native of Macomb, Mich., looks into the “hell hole” underneath a UH-1Y Huey helicopter at Camp Bastion, Afghanistan. Lemke discovered a previously unknown issue inside the tight space that represented an extreme risk to the aircraft and aircrew. The Marine was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his potentially lifesaving find. |
