Description
English: Insignia of the U.S. Navy guided missile cruiser USS Albany (CG-10), in 1970. It represents heraldically the naval virtues and the background of USS Albany. The flaming sword signifies protection, strength, and sacrifice. The mullets (stars) are, in heraldry, the knight's spur rowels, symbols of military power. There are four stars because CG-10 was the fourth USS Albany. The wheat sheaves and motto are taken from the arms of the city of Albany, New York (USA). The rope border and naval coronet symbolize sea power.
