The 11,000-pound USS Constellation anchor being removed from its display area next to the Naval War College (NWC) Museum Nov. 16. The artifact is being transported to Mystic, Conn. for restoration. The project is estimated to take several months to complete and is being managed by the NWC Museum. The NWC Museum is a part of the Naval History and Heritage command, and the museum interprets the history of the Navy in Narragansett Bay. Permanent exhibits interpret naval activities in the region from the colonial period through the Civil War and also focus on the Naval Torpedo Station, the Naval Training Station, and the Naval War College.
