Description The U.S. Navy guided missile cruiser USS Galveston (CLG-3) transits the Panama Canal. After an overhaul, Galveston departed the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, Pennsylvania (USA) on 23 July 1962, and transited the Panama Canal for her new home port of San Diego, California (USA). She was assigned to Cruiser-Destroyer Flotilla 9, U.S. Pacific Fleet, on 24 August 1962.
