DescriptionUSS Hambleton (DD-455) torpedoed in November 1942.jpg | The torpedoed U.S. Navy destroyer USS Hambleton (DD-455). As she lay anchored by USS Winooski (AO-38) off Fedala, Morocco, in the evening of 11 November 1942, Hambleton was struck amidships on the port side by a torpedo fired by the German U-boat U 173. She was towed to Casablanca for temporary repairs before reaching the Boston Navy Yard, Massachusetts (USA), on 28 June 1943 for permanent repairs. | |||
