SOUDA BAY, CRETE, GREECE (Nov. 30, 2009) Guided missisle destroyer USS Higgins (DDG 76) arrives for a routine port visit to the Greek island of Crete. Higgins is homeported in San Diego, Calif. and has been on a regularly scheduled six month deployment since mid-July of this year. Higgins reported on station in the Mediterranean Sea, Sept. 1, following completion of a normal western transit, which included consecurive operations in the 3rd, 7th, and 5th Fleets and is currently operating in the Sixth Fleet AOR.
