Summary

Description
English: The U.S. Navy attack transport USS Leedstown (APA-56) underway, circa in mid-1943. This view was probably taken just after completion of the ship's conversion to an attack transport but before she embarked her landing craft. Leedstown and her sister USS Windsor (APA-55) had two sets of Welin davits near the bow in addition to the usual four amidships, as did all the units of the Ormsby- and Sumter-classes.
