English: The U.S. Navy destroyer USS Meredith (DD-434) steaming astern of the battleship USS North Carolina (BB-55), during the latter's shakedown operations, circa in the summer of 1941. Note North Carolina´s wake as she turns to port, her aircraft crane and the muzzles of her after 40.6 cm guns.
