Description
English: The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Ranger (CVA-61) refuels from the civilian tanker Council Grove during "Operation Charger Log", in 1974. "Operation Charger Log" was a test of the abilitiy of a U.S. Navy combat vessel to receive fuel from a civilan tanker while operating at sea.
Ranger, with assigned Attack Carrier Air Wing 2 (CVW-2), was deployed to the Western Pacific from 7 May to 18 October 1974.
