Description The U.S. Navy fleet oiler USS Sabine (AO-25) refuels the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CV-6), not visible, in rough weather, during the approach phase of the "Doolittle Raid", 17 April 1942. Note the configuration of refueling gear, and the spare anchor stowed on the oiler's after superstructure bulkhead.
