editDescriptionUSS Winslow (AG-127) underway in 1945.jpg | The U.S. Navy destroyer USS Winslow (AG-127) in 1945. Note that she is equipped with the SP fighter direction radar on a seperate mast amidships. Winslow was modernized at the Charleston Naval Shipyard, South Carolina (USA), from March to June 1945. Following the end of the Second World War, she was redesignated from DD-359 to general auxiliary AG-127 on 17 September 1945 and was used for testing antiaircraft ordnance. She was the last of the pre-war destroyers in service and was finally decommissioned on 28 June 1950. |
