The vessel supported naval units during and after the 1991 Gulf War. The frigate USS Robert E. Peary (FF-1073) is moored outboard of Yosemite, the command ship USS La Salle (AGF-3) is moored aft of the tender. Note the darkened hull numbers used in the Persian Gulf.
