English: Coronado, Ca. (Oct. 1, 2003) – Cmdr. S. G. Nelson, left, swears in Chief Petty Officer David L. Wylie, right, during his commissioning as the first Chief Warrant Officer (SWCC) (Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewman) of Special Boat Team 12. The Combatant Crewman train extensively in craft and weapons tactics, techniques and procedures. Focusing on clandestine infiltration and ex-filtration of SEALs and other special forces, Naval Special Warfare Combatant Crewmen provide dedicated, rapid mobility in shallow water areas where larger ships cannot go. Special Warfare Combat Crewman training is comprised of three areas: Physical Fitness/water Safety Skills, Basic Crewmember Skill, and Basic SWCC Warfare Skills.
