English: East China Sea (Jan. 31, 2006) - Capt. Martin J. Keaney leads the ceremonial detail for the burial at sea for the cremated remains of Chief Engineman James O'Hare Jr. USN Ret. Chief Petty Officer O'Hare served in the Navy from 1942 to 1962 during World War ll and the Korean Conflict serving aboard the aircraft carrier USS Essex (CV 9), the immediate predecessor to the current amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) currently serving the Navy today. Honoring the request of Winifred O'Hare the widow of Chief O'Hare, his remains were scattered to the "Deep Blue Sea" from the namesake of his much beloved ship.
