English: SEKONDI, Ghana (March 12, 2010) Engineman Fireman Monet Hefner, from San Diego, assigned to the Whidbey Island-class amphibious dock landing ship USS Gunston Hall (LSD 44) plays soccer with children at St. Theresa's Early Childhood Development Center in Sekondi, Ghana. Gunston Hall Sailors are participating in a three-day community relations project to refurbish the center. Gunston Hall is on a scheduled deployment in West Africa supporting Africa Partnership Station (APS) West, an international initiative developed by Naval Forces Europe and Naval Forces Africa, which aims to improve maritime safety and security on the African continent.
