English: SAN DIEGO (April 1, 2011) Capt. Jim Landers, commanding officer of the multi-purpose amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8), along with Rear Adm. Earl Gay, commander of Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) 3, explains the ship's propulsion system to former President William Jefferson Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. The Clintons were aboard Makin Island to speak at the retirement ceremony for Chief Culinary Specialist Oscar Flores who currently works for the president.
