Summary

edit
Description
English: Lake Palace Hotel (Jag Niwas). Udaipur, Rajasthan

Jag Niwas was built in the 18th century by Maharana Jagat Singh II, who ruled between 1734 and 1751 (do not confuse this ruler with Jagat Singh I, 1628 - 1652, who is misidentified as the builder in some guidebooks).

Jag Niwas was originally a summer palace of the maharanas. Now converted into a luxury hotel, it occupies an incredibly romantic setting on a small island on Lake Pichola, just opposite the City Palace.
