English: Udine, Italy. Piazza Libertá: Monument of peace, odered by Napoleon in 1797 after the peace treaty of Campoformido, completed in 1819 by Ferdinand of Habsburg.
Deutsch: Udine, Friaul, Italien, Piazza Libertá: Das Friedensdenkmal schuf der italienische Bildhauer Giovanni Battista Comolli (1775–1831) im Auftrag von General Napoleon 1797 nach dem Frieden von Campoformido (Nähe von Udine), vollendet 1819 im Auftrag von Großherzog Ferdinand III. (Toskana), der 1814 in das Großherzogtum Toskana zurückkehrte, das am 30. Mai 1814 im Pariser Friedensvertrag restituiert worden war, wo er 1824 in Florenz starb. Die Piazza Libertà in Udine ist der älteste Platz der Stadt und ihr Herz. Er gilt als der schönste Platz in venezianischem Stil auf dem Festland, ein harmonisches Gefüge von Renaissancebauten. |
