Description
English: Scandium is the first transition metal and the first rare earth element, the latter also includes yttrium and the lanthanoids. The ignoble light metal has only a few applications, because its chemistry isn't so complex and it also is rather expensive. It is used in high-quality, light alloys, e.g. for frames of racing bicycles.
