Description
Français : Un ferry naviguant dans le Leirvíksfjørður, le long des hautes falaises presque verticales de l' île de Kalsoy, non loin de Leirvík. Ce navire qui mesure pourtant 93 mètres de long apparaît comme minuscule par rapport aux falaises de plusieurs centaines de mètres de hauteur qui tombent quasiment à pic dans la mer. La hauteur moyenne des falaises de Kalsoy est d' environ 500 mètres. La largeur moyenne de l' île n' est que de 600 mètres. Le présent ferry-boat est le "Smyril" qui a appartenu à la compagnie de navigation Strandfaraskip Landsin de 1975 à 2005. Le "Smyril" (ancien "Morten Mols") a été construit en 1969 au Danemark. Ce navire peut accueillir 800 passagers et transporter 135 voitures. Il a été utilisé pour assurer des liaisons maritimes entre les îles des Îles Féroé, vers le Danemark, l' Ecosse, la Norvège et l' Islande. IMO: 6906529.
