Description
English: During the first day of his visit to Colombia, Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Thomas A. Shannon met with General Óscar Naranjo - Vice President to discuss issues on the bilateral agenda, such as efforts in the fight against drugs and the implementation of the peace agreement.

Later, the Minister of Defense Luis Carlos Villegas presented him with the Grand Cross for Distinguished Services for his spirit of collaboration, approach and support for the strengthening of relations with the Ministry of National Defense.

To end the day, Undersecretary Shannon will meet with the US-Colombia Business Council, an organization that seeks to further strengthen existing economic ties between the two countries, and work with both governments to promote economic competitiveness in the global market. .

Tomorrow, together with Foreign Minister María Ángela Holguín, he will lead the VII Colombia-United States High-Level Dialogue, where strategic issues of the bilateral relationship will be discussed.
