Français : Depuis 1799, des chercheurs ont montré qu'en biologie, pour un petit nombre de réactions, les éléments chimiques ne sont pas conservés. Vers 1959, des chercheurs ont compris que cela s'explique par des réactions de fusions ou fissions de noyaux d'atomes controlées par des organismes biologiques. Ces réactions sont essentielles pour un grand nombre d'êtres vivants, des bactéries aux mammifères. En 2010, il n'y a pas de théorie consensuelle pour expliquer ces transmutations biologiques. |
