Description
Русский: Сцена Благовещения имеет очень редкую иконографию, в нее добавлена сцена Мистической охоты на единорога. Архангел Гавриил уподобляется трубящему в рог охотницу с собаками, преследующему единорога, который находит заступничество у Богоматери. Согласно легенде, поймать единорога охотники могут только тогда, когда он утратит свою изворотливость и силу перед чистотой Девы Марии. Подобно тому, как Христос обретает земное воплощение в лоне Богоматери через Непорочное Зачатие. Дева Мария восхваляется как земное убежище мистического единорога-Христа. Свора собак, сопровождающих архангела Гавриила, персонифицирует христианские добродетели. Одновременно псы могут обозначать монахов доминиканского ордена (домини канес), которые стремятся к милосердию, миру и постижению божественной истины (надписи в бандеролях рядом с ними).
