Description

Planespotting was not on my agenda at all during my weeklong visit of Boston and New York City; I was too busy enjoying the top-notch cultural activities the two cities had to offer.

Nevertheless, with John F. Kennedy Presidential Library on the UMass Boston campus being right under the approach path to Logan Airport's 4R runway, I could turn my camera to the sky while waiting for a shuttle bus back to the subway station... and come up with this shot.

This aircraft, ETOPS-rated for Hawaii services, is arriving from Los Angeles as United 528. It was built in late 1991 and was delivered to United under a lease from Wells Fargo. Despite its age, it looks presentable thanks to the new paint job as a result of the United-Continental merger 2 years ago.
