English: 031016-N-3953L-594 Niland, Ca. (October 16, 2003) -- SEAL Qualification Training (SQT) is a 15-week course designed to bridge the gap between BUD/S and the operational components. SQT teaches the full spectrum of basic SEAL skills/tactics with the goal of seamless integration into operational SEAL/SDV platoons. Students spend 4 weeks here at the Naval remote training facility in Niland, CA concentrating on tactics, weapons familiarization and demolition. The SEAL Warfare Designator (Trident) is awarded following successful completion of SQT..Navy SEALs are maritime special operations forces who strike from the SEa, Air and Land. They operate in small numbers, infiltrating their objective areas by fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, navy surface ships, combatant craft and submarines. SEALs have the ability to conduct a variety of high-risk missions- unconventional warfare, direct action, special reconnaissance, combat search and rescue, diversionary attacks and precision strikes- all in a clandestine fashion..Official U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's Mate 2nd Class Eric S.
