Summary edit

Description
English: Upper Itchen Benefice Church In The Woods Bramdean This iron church was built in 1883 at the instigation of the Rev. Alfred Ceaser Bishop MA (the rector of Bramdean)in order that the commoners, charcoal burners and gypsy itinerants who used Bramdean Common were able to attend a church. His widow, Louisa Francis Katharine died in 1893 and endowed in her will monies to be held in trust to ensure the future of the church. This fund is now a Registered Charity and is the responsibility of three trustees together with the rector of Bramdean who manage and maintain the church.
